Beard Transplant Rugby

Get back to a great beard

Last Reviewed: 10 September 2026

A beard transplant thickens patchy areas or shapes a new beard line using your own permanent hair. For Rugby patients the price is a fixed £2,899, 5☆ rated and all-inclusive with no hidden extras, delivered in a single day by GMC-registered surgeons at CQC-registered clinics. A few photographs and a free video consultation are enough for a clear plan and an honest answer on suitability.

Beard Transplant Surgery in Rugby with My Hair UK

For Rugby patients the process is built to be simple: a free consultation with the surgeon who would carry out your procedure, by video from home or in-person at the clinic, then a plan and fixed price agreed in writing, and the surgery itself completed in a single day under local anaesthetic. Nothing is committed until you have seen exactly what your beard needs and what it costs.

The procedure is FUE applied to the face: individual follicular units are moved from the permanent donor area at the back and sides of your scalp into the cheeks, jawline, moustache or chin. The transplanted hair behaves like beard hair from then on, and it lasts, because donor hair keeps its permanence wherever it is placed. Our beard restoration guide covers the surgery itself in more depth.

The typical case is not a full beard from nothing. It is patchy cheeks, thin sideburns, a moustache that does not join the chin, or gaps that make a beard look untidy at every length. Genetic patchiness does not fill in on its own, and our guide to fixing a patchy beard explains why the non-surgical options rarely close the gap.

Cost

Beard Transplant Cost in Rugby

The price for Rugby patients is £2,899, fixed before surgery and unchanged by the graft count. Per-graft pricing is the industry norm, and it is why quotes elsewhere often arrive as a range that only settles once you are committed. We think that is the wrong way round. The number of grafts you need is a clinical decision, so it should not be a billing lever, and with a fixed fee the surgeon plans your beard around the best result rather than a price band.

The £2,899 is all-inclusive: surgery, local anaesthetic, clinic fees, aftercare pack and follow-up reviews. How that compares across the UK market, and why the price does not scale with grafts, is covered on our beard transplant cost page.

How a Beard Transplant Works

The procedure runs in a single day under local anaesthetic. You are awake throughout, and most patients find the numbing injections the only uncomfortable part. Grafts are extracted individually from the donor area of the scalp, then placed one at a time at the flat angle beard hair naturally grows, following a design agreed with you before surgery starts.

The design stage matters more in beard work than anywhere else, because every line is on show. Before anything is placed, the surgeon draws the cheek line, jawline, neckline and moustache join directly onto your face and agrees it with you. Single-hair grafts go along the outlines, where the eye is most sensitive, so the edges look grown rather than drawn. You go home the same day.

How Many Grafts Does a Beard Transplant Take?

Typical graft counts by area, matching both the published literature and what the surgeons see in practice:

Healing, Shaving and Results

The healing pattern is predictable. Fine dotted scabbing for the first week or two, mild redness that fades over the following weeks, and a shedding phase between weeks two and eight when the transplanted hairs fall out while the follicles stay put. The two patient photographs here show the difference a fortnight makes: small scabs at each graft the day after surgery, then clear skin with mild redness once they have dropped off at two weeks. New growth begins around month three and the final result settles between nine and twelve months.

The shaving rules are simple: nothing for two weeks, trimming after that, and a normal wet shave from around a month once the grafts are secure. Aftercare products are included in the price, and we have regular monthly check-ins with you to ensure your growth is progressing and offer free 6 & 12 month follow up consultations with your surgeon either by video or in-person.

Getting to the Clinics From Rugby

Rugby to London Euston is around 50 minutes on Avanti West Coast, and Euston is where the Overground’s Lioness line to Kenton begins, so the Harrow clinic is a single ride from the platform; the Manchester clinic is equally CQC-registered, and Avanti runs there direct from Rugby too, hourly via Stoke. The Catthorpe Interchange, where the M1, M6 and A14 meet, is on the town’s doorstep.

Whether home is New Bilton, Overslade, Newbold-on-Avon or Coton Park, in the town whose radio station first relayed the pips across the Atlantic, fresh from the Webb Ellis Rugby Football Museum opposite the school, the galleries of Rugby Art Gallery and Museum or a walk round Draycote Water, book a free consultation with our trichology team, in person or by video call, and receive a tailored beard plan for Rugby patients with the fixed £2,899 price confirmed in writing.

Travel

From Rugby to My Hair UK London (Harrow) Clinic

By Train

Avanti West Coast runs direct from Rugby to London Euston twice an hour, the fastest in around 50 minutes, and London Northwestern adds three slower trains an hour via Northampton or Milton Keynes; the great 1895 signal gantry, the Rugby Bedstead, is long gone but still talked about. At Euston, follow the signs for the London Overground: the Lioness line towards Watford Junction stops at Kenton, around 25 minutes away and a short walk from the Harrow clinic. Rugby station gained a new island platform in the West Coast rebuild of 2008, and a few Avanti trains run Rugby to Euston without a single stop.

By Car

Driving from Rugby takes around 1 hour 30 minutes. The A426 to the Catthorpe Interchange and onto the M1 south past Northampton, Milton Keynes and Luton; come off at Junction 5 for Watford, follow the A41 through Bushey and Stanmore, and the A409 turns down Kenton Lane to the clinic.

From Rugby to My Hair UK Manchester Clinic

By Train

Avanti West Coast runs an hourly direct train from Rugby to Manchester Piccadilly, around 1 hour 30 minutes via Stoke and Macclesfield, so there is no change to make. Leave Piccadilly by the main concourse for the tram to Victoria, five minutes from the top of Deansgate, or walk it in fifteen to twenty minutes by way of Market Street.

By Car

By car from Rugby allow around two hours. The A426 to Catthorpe and straight onto the M6 at Junction 1, north past Coventry, Birmingham and Stoke to Junction 19 at Knutsford for the A556, which runs into the M56; east to the M60 and round to the Eccles interchange for the M602 into Salford, with Regent Road onto Deansgate.

Local GPs

Your GP is worth a conversation before elective surgery, since some conditions and medications affect how grafts take, and the surgeon will ask about both at consultation. Many Rugby patients hold the consultation by video and make the Harrow journey only for surgery day itself. Three NHS practices in Rugby:

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What does a beard transplant cost for Rugby patients?

The price is £2,899, fixed and all-inclusive, however many grafts your plan needs. It covers the surgery, anaesthetic, clinic fees, aftercare products and follow-up reviews, and it is agreed in writing before surgery.

2. Do I need to travel from Rugby for a beard transplant?

Yes, once. Surgery is a single day at a CQC-registered partner clinic in central Manchester or Harrow, north-west London, whichever suits you better. The consultation is free, by video from home or in-person at the clinic if you prefer, and follow-up runs by video unless you would rather come in, so the only required travel is the day of surgery itself.

3. Will the transplanted beard hair fall out again?

The transplanted hairs shed once, between roughly weeks two and eight after surgery, which is a normal part of the cycle. The follicles themselves stay in place, regrow from around three months, and are then permanent.

4. How long does a beard transplant take to heal?

Scabbing clears in around two weeks, leaving slight redness that fades. The transplanted hairs shed between weeks two and eight, regrowth begins at around three months, and the final result settles between nine and twelve months.

5. How do consultations work for Rugby patients?

By video from home, or in-person at the clinic if you prefer, free of charge either way. A few photographs are enough for the surgical team to assess your beard, and the consultation covers whether a transplant is worthwhile in your case, the graft plan, and the fixed £2,899 price. There is no obligation to book.

6. How many visits does a beard transplant involve?

One surgical visit is all it needs. The consultation beforehand can be by video, the surgery is completed in a single day, and follow-up runs as monthly check-ins plus free 6 and 12 month consultations with your surgeon, by video or in-person as you prefer.

7. Who is a good candidate for a beard transplant?

Men whose beard pattern has settled and who have a healthy scalp donor area. Genetic patchiness is the classic case. Suitability is confirmed at the free consultation, and if the surgical team does not think a transplant would serve you well, they will say so.
