What Is a Facial Hair Transplant?
A facial hair transplant is an FUE hair transplant applied to the face. Follicular units are moved one at a time from the back and sides of your scalp into areas where facial hair is thin, patchy or absent. Once grown in, the new hair behaves like the facial hair around it: you shave it, trim it and style it.
Facial hair implants, facial hair grafts, facial hair restoration and facial hair surgery are all names for the same FUE procedure. Nothing artificial is implanted: every graft is your own hair.
How much facial hair you can grow is largely set by genetics, so patchy or absent growth rarely improves on its own. A transplant is the reliable way to change that pattern, and it can also restore growth lost to scarring where hair will not return by itself.

Moustache Transplants
A moustache typically takes 400 to 500 grafts. The lip line is the most closely seen edge on the face, so it is built from individual single-hair grafts, angled downward so the hair sits flat against the lip rather than standing proud. The usual cases are a thin centre that never filled in, a gap between the moustache and the chin, and scarring, including scarring from a cleft lip repair, where a moustache is one of the most effective ways to make the line disappear.
Sideburn Transplants
Sideburns take 200 to 300 grafts each side. They frame the face and join the haircut to the beard, and when they are absent or patchy the cause is almost always genetic. Design matters more than volume here: the two sides need to match each other, and the density is set to blend into whatever beard growth is below, so the join is invisible.
Goatee and Chin
The goatee and chin area typically takes 600 to 700 grafts. Chin hair is the coarsest facial hair, so this zone reads as the densest part of a beard, and gaps here show more than anywhere else. It is often treated together with the moustache in one session, completing the ring around the mouth.
Beard Transplants
The beard is the most requested facial hair transplant: filling patchy cheeks, strengthening a jawline, or building a full beard from nothing. Cheeks typically take 300 to 600 grafts each side, and full beard construction usually sits between 2,000 and 2,500 grafts, still within one surgical day and the same fixed price.

The procedure takes a single day under local anaesthetic, and you are awake throughout. The grafts come from the donor area of your scalp, where the hair is the closest match to facial hair and keeps its permanence once moved.
What makes facial work distinct is that every area has its own angle and its own density. When more than one area is treated in a session, the face is designed as a whole rather than as separate patches, so the densities meet naturally where a moustache joins a chin or a sideburn meets a cheek.
