How Much Does a Norwood 1 Transplant Cost?
A Norwood 1 hair transplant costs £2,499 to £2,899 at My Hair UK, for 500 to 1,000 grafts, and the price is fixed before surgery. Most people at Norwood 1 need no transplant, because there is no hair loss yet: where one is wanted, it is to rebuild the temple points or lower a naturally high hairline. Elsewhere in the UK, a procedure of this size is widely quoted at £3,000 to £4,500.
Estimate your graft numbers in 3D
Our Interactive 3D hair transplant graft calculator lets you move a front hairline slider and a crown slider until a 3D head matches your own hair, then shows an estimated number of grafts and the price. The estimate moves in steps of 500 grafts, and the surgeon confirms the real figure when they assess your scalp.

About 500 grafts: temple points

About 1,000 grafts: hairline forward about 1cm
What is included in the price
The price covers the whole procedure: a free consultation with the surgeon, the FUE procedure itself under local anaesthetic, the medication you take home, an aftercare kit, and in-person follow-up appointments as the new hair grows. There is no consultation fee and nothing is added on the day.
How the price compares
Across UK clinics, a procedure of 500 grafts is widely quoted at about £3,000 to £3,500, and 1,000 grafts at about £3,000 to £4,500, so our prices sit at the lower end. Many UK clinics charge a minimum fee for small procedures, because the surgical day costs much the same whatever the graft number. Prices abroad can be lower, and our UK vs Turkey cost comparison sets out what is and is not included.
Is a Norwood 1 transplant worth the cost?
Often it is not needed at all. Norwood 1 means there is no hair loss, so a transplant only makes sense for a specific reason, such as a naturally high forehead or temple points you would like stronger. Where your hairline has started to move, it is usually better to find out whether it is maturing or receding before spending anything, and the free consultation will tell you honestly.
How you pay
A 50% Booking Fee secures your surgery date, and the balance is paid on the day of surgery. The price is agreed in writing before you book, so the figure you are quoted is the figure you pay.

Frequently asked questions
Q: How much does a Norwood 1 hair transplant cost?
A: £2,499 to £2,899 at My Hair UK, for 500 to 1,000 grafts, with the price fixed before surgery. Elsewhere in the UK, a procedure of this size is widely quoted at £3,000 to £4,500.
Q: Can I get a Norwood 1 hair transplant on the NHS?
A: Generally not. The NHS treats hair transplants as cosmetic surgery, so they are not usually funded, and Norwood 1 has no hair loss to treat. Our guide to hair transplants on the NHS explains the rules.
Q: Is there a minimum price for a small hair transplant?
A: Yes. £2,499 is the minimum for any procedure, however few grafts it needs, because the booking is a full surgical day with its team, medication and aftercare.
Q: Is 25 too early for a hair transplant?
A: Not on age alone. What matters is whether your hair loss has settled and whether there is anything to treat. At Norwood 1 there is usually nothing to restore, and if your hairline is still moving the surgeon may advise waiting.
Q: Does the price include aftercare?
A: Yes. The price includes your medication, an aftercare kit and in-person follow-up appointments, as well as the free consultation and the procedure itself.
