How Much Does a Norwood 7 Transplant Cost?

Estimate your graft numbers in 3D
Our Interactive 3D hair transplant graft calculator lets you move a front hairline slider and a crown slider until a 3D head matches your own hair, then shows an estimated number of grafts and the price. The estimate moves in steps of 500 grafts, and the surgeon confirms the real figure when they assess your scalp.

What is included in the price
A Norwood 7 plan begins with a free consultation in which the surgeon decides, with you, whether a transplant is worthwhile and how many grafts your donor area can spare. If you go ahead, the price includes both FUE procedures under local anaesthetic, a supply of medication and an aftercare kit to take home after each, and face-to-face follow-up appointments through the months of regrowth. There is no charge for the consultation, and no extra cost is added on either surgery day.
How the price compares
Across UK clinics, a Norwood 7 transplant typically costs between £16,500 and £37,500. Many charge about £3.50 to £6 per graft, so 6,000 grafts alone would cost about £21,000 to £36,000, far more than our price for the same number. Clinics abroad can charge less, and our UK vs Turkey cost comparison explains the factors worth checking before travelling for surgery.
If a transplant is not right for you
Norwood 7 is the stage at which a transplant is most often not the right answer. If the surgeon finds at your free consultation that your donor area cannot give a result worth the cost, you are told plainly and nothing is booked or paid. Where a transplant is suitable, the price is worked out from the grafts your donor area can safely give: 7,000 grafts, for example, is two procedures of 3,500 grafts at £4,899 each, £9,798 in total, while a smaller front-focused plan costs less.
How you pay
A Norwood 7 transplant is paid in two parts, one for each procedure. When you book the first, a 50% Booking Fee holds the date and the rest is paid on the day of surgery. The second procedure, at least six months on, has its own Booking Fee and balance in the same way. The figures for both are put in writing before you book anything.

Frequently asked questions
Q: How much does a Norwood 7 hair transplant cost?
A: £8,998 to £9,798 at My Hair UK, for 6,000 to 7,000 grafts over two procedures where the donor area allows, fixed before you book. Across the UK, a Norwood 7 transplant typically costs between £16,500 and £37,500..
Q: Is Norwood 7 the most expensive stage?
A: It usually has the highest price, because it needs the most grafts. The price follows the number of grafts, so 7,000 grafts, the most planned for anyone, is £9,798 over two procedures, compared with £8,198 to £8,998 at Norwood 6.
Q: What happens if I am not suitable for a Norwood 7 transplant?
A: You are told at your free consultation and nothing is booked or charged. The surgeon explains why, based on your donor area.
Do London and Manchester charge differently for Norwood 7?
A: No. The same published prices apply in both, so a Norwood 7 plan of 6,000 to 7,000 grafts costs the same in either city.
Q: When do I pay for the second procedure?
A: When you book it. The second procedure has its own 50% Booking Fee to hold the date, and the balance is paid on the day of that procedure, at least six months after the first.
