Beard Transplant Wokingham

Get back to great hair

Last Reviewed: 10 September 2026

A beard transplant thickens patchy areas or shapes a new beard line using your own permanent hair. For Wokingham patients the price is a fixed £2,899, 5☆ rated and all-inclusive with no hidden extras, delivered in a single day by GMC-registered surgeons at CQC-registered clinics. A few photographs and a free video consultation are enough for a clear plan and an honest answer on suitability.

Beard Transplant Surgery in Wokingham with My Hair UK

A beard transplant is an FUE hair transplant applied to the face. Follicular units are taken one at a time from the donor area at the back and sides of your scalp, where hair is permanent, and placed into the cheeks, jawline, moustache or chin. Once healed they grow as beard hair: you shave it, trim it and style it like the rest. The full procedure is covered on our beard transplant page.

Most of the Wokingham patients we hear from want thickening work rather than a beard built from nothing. Patchy cheeks, a gap between the moustache and the chin, thin sideburns or an uneven jawline are the typical cases. Patchiness is usually genetic, so it does not respond to waiting, and a transplant is the only treatment that adds permanent hair where there is none.

Your consultation happens either by video from home, or in-person with the surgeon who would carry out your procedure if you'd prefer to travel to the clinic (directions below). It is free, and you get an honest answer on whether a transplant is worth it in your case, including when it is not, along with your graft plan and the fixed price confirmed in writing before anything is booked.

Cost

Beard Transplant Cost in Wokingham

£2,899 is the complete price of a beard transplant for Wokingham patients: one fixed, all-inclusive fee agreed in writing before surgery, whatever the number of grafts placed on the day. UK beard work is widely quoted anywhere from £3,000 to £7,000 depending on graft count, so a fixed fee at this level is deliberately competitive, and it means a bigger plan never carries a penalty.

The fee covers everything attached to the day itself: the surgeon and surgical team, anaesthetic, clinic facilities, aftercare products and your follow-up reviews. What the price includes and how it compares is set out in full on our beard transplant cost page.

The Procedure, Start to Finish

On the day itself you are at the clinic for several hours, awake, under local anaesthetic. The surgeon first draws the design on your face and agrees every line with you: the cheek line, the jawline and neckline, how the moustache joins the chin, and how new growth blends into any beard you already have. Nothing is placed until you are happy with those lines.

Grafts are then extracted one follicular unit at a time from the back and sides of your scalp, where hair is a close match for beard hair and keeps its permanence. Each graft is placed flat to the skin in the direction beard hair grows, with single-hair grafts along the visible edges. It is one day of surgery, and you go home the same evening.

Healing, Shaving and Results

The healing pattern is predictable. Fine dotted scabbing for the first week or two, mild redness that fades over the following weeks, and a shedding phase between weeks two and eight when the transplanted hairs fall out while the follicles stay put. The two patient photographs here show the difference a fortnight makes: small scabs at each graft the day after surgery, then clear skin with mild redness once they have dropped off at two weeks. New growth begins around month three and the final result settles between nine and twelve months.

The shaving rules are simple: nothing for two weeks, trimming after that, and a normal wet shave from around a month once the grafts are secure. Aftercare products are included in the price, and we have regular monthly check-ins with you to ensure your growth is progressing and offer free 6 & 12 month follow up consultations with your surgeon either by video or in-person.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What does a beard transplant cost for Wokingham patients?

The price is £2,899, fixed and all-inclusive, however many grafts your plan needs. It covers the surgery, anaesthetic, clinic fees, aftercare products and follow-up reviews, and it is agreed in writing before surgery.

2. Is there a beard transplant clinic in Wokingham?

Surgery for Wokingham patients is carried out at CQC-registered clinics in central Manchester and Harrow, north-west London, rather than in Wokingham itself. Because the procedure is completed in a single day, most patients treat it as one travel day, and everything before and after surgery can be handled by video from home, with the free consultation also available in-person at the clinic if you prefer.

3. Am I suitable for a beard transplant?

Most men with settled growth patterns and a healthy donor area are. Patchy cheeks, thin sideburns and gaps around the chin respond particularly well. The honest answer for your own case comes from the free photographic assessment, and the surgeons do say no when a transplant is not worthwhile.

4. Should I go to Turkey instead for a beard transplant?

Turkey is cheaper, and for some people that decides it. What you give up is straightforward: UK regulation, a surgeon you can be called back to see, and aftercare that does not involve an airport. At £2,899 fixed, the gap is also far smaller for beard work than most patients assume.

5. Can I still shave my head after a beard transplant?

At very short clipper lengths the FUE dot marks in the donor area can show faintly, as with any FUE procedure. At a grade two or longer they are hidden for the vast majority of patients. The beard area itself heals without visible scarring.

6. What is the best age for a beard transplant?

Whenever your growth pattern has stabilised, which is typically from the mid twenties onwards. Our guide to the best age for a beard transplant covers how to judge it, and the free assessment gives you a straight answer for your own case.

7. What aftercare support do I get after a beard transplant?

Aftercare products and instructions on the day, regular monthly check-ins to make sure your growth is progressing, and free follow-up consultations with your surgeon at 6 and 12 months, by video or in-person. For Wokingham patients the routine contact all happens from home.
