Beard Transplant Swansea

Get back to a great beard

Last Reviewed: 6 September 2026

A beard transplant thickens patchy areas or shapes a new beard line using your own permanent hair. For Swansea patients the price is a fixed £2,899, 5☆ rated and all-inclusive with no hidden extras, delivered in a single day by GMC-registered surgeons at CQC-registered clinics. A few photographs and a free video consultation are enough for a clear plan and an honest answer on suitability.

Beard Transplant Surgery in Swansea with My Hair UK

A patchy or incomplete beard is one of the few cosmetic problems with a genuinely permanent fix. A beard transplant moves follicular units, one at a time, from the donor area at the back and sides of your scalp into the areas of your beard that need them. Donor hair is not affected by balding, so once the transplanted hairs grow in they are yours for good: shaved, trimmed and styled like the rest. The surgery is explained fully on our beard restoration and transplant page.

For Swansea patients the practical shape of it is one free consultation, by video from home or in-person at the clinic, then a single day of surgery, because even full beard construction fits within one session. Everything is settled beforehand: the design, the graft plan and the fixed £2,899 price, all agreed with the surgeon before the day itself.

Whether you are a good candidate depends on your growth pattern and what you want to achieve. Patchy cheeks, thin sideburns and gaps around the chin respond well. If your patchiness appeared suddenly as smooth round spots, that can be alopecia barbae, which needs a diagnosis rather than a transplant, and the surgeon will tell you so plainly at consultation.

Cost

Beard Transplant Cost in Swansea

The price for Swansea patients is £2,899, fixed before surgery and unchanged by the graft count. Per-graft pricing is the industry norm, and it is why quotes elsewhere often arrive as a range that only settles once you are committed. We think that is the wrong way round. The number of grafts you need is a clinical decision, so it should not be a billing lever, and with a fixed fee the surgeon plans your beard around the best result rather than a price band.

The £2,899 is all-inclusive: surgery, local anaesthetic, clinic fees, aftercare pack and follow-up reviews. How that compares across the UK market, and why the price does not scale with grafts, is covered on our beard transplant cost page.

How the Surgery Works

A beard transplant is a one-day procedure under local anaesthetic: design first, extraction second, placement third, home the same evening. The design is drawn on your face and agreed with you before surgery begins, because in beard work the outline is everything, and single-hair grafts are used along the edges so the result reads as grown rather than drawn on.

Beard hair also reads as full at a lower density than scalp work, around 25 to 40 grafts per square centimetre against the 40 a scalp hairline needs, which is why graft numbers that sound modest go a long way on the face. The safe ceiling is 3,500 grafts in a day, and even full beard construction sits comfortably inside a single day for most patients.

How Many Grafts Does a Beard Transplant Take?

Typical graft counts by area, matching both the published literature and what the surgeons see in practice:

Recovery-Timeline

Beard Transplant Recovery Timeline

Recovery is quicker than most patients expect. For the first few days the treated area shows a small scab at each graft with some redness, and the scabs lift over the first two weeks. The patient photographs in this section show it honestly: fine dotted scabbing the day after surgery, then the same beard at two weeks with the scabs cleared and only slight redness remaining. Do not shave the transplanted area for the first two weeks; after that it can be trimmed, and normal shaving usually resumes from around a month once the grafts are secure.

Between roughly week two and week eight the transplanted hairs shed. This is normal and it is not the grafts failing: the follicles stay in place, new growth starts at around three months, and the beard reaches its final density between nine and twelve months. We keep in touch through the regrowth period with regular monthly check-ins, and you have free follow-up consultations with your surgeon at 6 and 12 months, by video or in-person.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How much does a beard transplant cost in Swansea?

£2,899 for Swansea patients, as a single fixed price whatever the number of grafts, up to the 3,500 that can safely be placed in one day. The price is agreed before surgery and nothing is added on the day.

2. Is there a beard transplant clinic in Swansea?

Surgery for Swansea patients is carried out at CQC-registered clinics in central Manchester and Harrow, north-west London, rather than in Swansea itself. Because the procedure is completed in a single day, most patients treat it as one travel day, and everything before and after surgery can be handled by video from home, with the free consultation also available in-person at the clinic if you prefer.

3. How many grafts does a beard transplant take?

Typically 200 to 300 per sideburn, 400 to 500 for a moustache, 600 to 700 for the goatee and chin, and 300 to 600 per cheek. Full beard construction is usually 2,000 to 2,500 grafts, which fits within a single day of surgery.

4. What is the beard transplant recovery timeline?

Roughly two weeks of visible scabbing and redness, a shedding phase between weeks two and eight, new growth from month three, and final density between nine and twelve months. Most patients are back at work within days.

5. Is the £2,899 really the full price?

Yes. It includes the surgeon and surgical team, local anaesthetic, all clinic fees, aftercare products and follow-up reviews. It is agreed before surgery and does not change with the number of grafts.

6. How does the UK compare with Turkey for beard transplants?

The honest comparison is price against accountability. Turkish packages usually cost less, but follow-up happens by messaging app, and any complication is a long way from the clinic that caused it. A UK procedure at a fixed £2,899 keeps your surgeon, your records and your aftercare in the same country as you.

7. Does the donor area show after a beard transplant?

Beard work uses comparatively modest graft numbers, so the donor area at the back of the scalp recovers quickly, and the tiny FUE dot marks are covered by surrounding hair at normal lengths. The redness there settles within a couple of weeks.
