Beard Transplant Wellingborough

Get back to a great beard

Last Reviewed: 10 September 2026

A beard transplant thickens patchy areas or shapes a new beard line using your own permanent hair. For Wellingborough patients the price is a fixed £2,899, 5☆ rated and all-inclusive with no hidden extras, delivered in a single day by GMC-registered surgeons at CQC-registered clinics. A few photographs and a free video consultation are enough for a clear plan and an honest answer on suitability.

Beard Transplant Surgery in Wellingborough with My Hair UK

For Wellingborough patients the process is built to be simple: a free consultation with the surgeon who would carry out your procedure, by video from home or in-person at the clinic, then a plan and fixed price agreed in writing, and the surgery itself completed in a single day under local anaesthetic. Nothing is committed until you have seen exactly what your beard needs and what it costs.

The procedure is FUE applied to the face: individual follicular units are moved from the permanent donor area at the back and sides of your scalp into the cheeks, jawline, moustache or chin. The transplanted hair behaves like beard hair from then on, and it lasts, because donor hair keeps its permanence wherever it is placed. Our beard restoration guide covers the surgery itself in more depth.

The typical case is not a full beard from nothing. It is patchy cheeks, thin sideburns, a moustache that does not join the chin, or gaps that make a beard look untidy at every length. Genetic patchiness does not fill in on its own, and our guide to fixing a patchy beard explains why the non-surgical options rarely close the gap.

Cost

Beard Transplant Cost in Wellingborough

A beard transplant costs £2,899 for Wellingborough patients. That is a single fixed price whatever the number of grafts, agreed before surgery, and it does not move on the day. It covers the surgeon's time, the anaesthetic, all clinic fees, aftercare products and your follow-up reviews. There is nothing to add and nothing to negotiate.

Most UK clinics price beard work per graft, which means the bill depends on a number you cannot check yourself. A fixed fee removes that conversation entirely: whether your plan needs 600 grafts around the chin or 2,500 for full construction, the price is the same £2,899. The full breakdown is on our beard transplant cost page.

How the Surgery Works

On the day itself you are at the clinic for several hours, awake, under local anaesthetic. The surgeon first draws the design on your face and agrees every line with you: the cheek line, the jawline and neckline, how the moustache joins the chin, and how new growth blends into any beard you already have. Nothing is placed until you are happy with those lines.

Grafts are then extracted one follicular unit at a time from the back and sides of your scalp, where hair is a close match for beard hair and keeps its permanence. Each graft is placed flat to the skin in the direction beard hair grows, with single-hair grafts along the visible edges. It is one day of surgery, and you go home the same evening.

Healing, Shaving and Results

The healing pattern is predictable. Fine dotted scabbing for the first week or two, mild redness that fades over the following weeks, and a shedding phase between weeks two and eight when the transplanted hairs fall out while the follicles stay put. The two patient photographs here show the difference a fortnight makes: small scabs at each graft the day after surgery, then clear skin with mild redness once they have dropped off at two weeks. New growth begins around month three and the final result settles between nine and twelve months.

The shaving rules are simple: nothing for two weeks, trimming after that, and a normal wet shave from around a month once the grafts are secure. Aftercare products are included in the price, and we have regular monthly check-ins with you to ensure your growth is progressing and offer free 6 & 12 month follow up consultations with your surgeon either by video or in-person.

Getting to the Clinics From Wellingborough

Wellingborough to London St Pancras is 44 minutes on the fastest East Midlands Railway trains and under an hour on most, and St Pancras is a five-minute walk from Euston’s Overground platforms, so the Harrow clinic is a comfortable half day from the town that invented the brothel creeper. The Manchester clinic holds the same CQC registration for Wellingborough patients, but there is no direct train, so allow around three hours with a change at Sheffield.

Whether home is Hemmingwell, Hatton Park, Brickhill or Glenvale Park, a Doughboy from the town where Whitworth Bros have milled flour since 1886, fresh from a show at the Castle Theatre on Castle Way, ten thousand years of history at the Chester House Estate at Irchester or the ironstone trail through Irchester Country Park, book a free consultation with our trichology team, in person or by video call, and receive a tailored beard plan for Wellingborough patients with the fixed £2,899 price confirmed in writing.

By Train

East Midlands Railway runs direct from Wellingborough to London St Pancras up to 37 times a day, 44 minutes at the fastest and around 56 on average, on the half-hourly electric Connect trains that share their path with the Corby service; the Venetian Gothic station of 1857 on Midland Road is Grade II listed, and the road named London Road is where the town’s other station stood until 1966, so do not let a sat nav take you there. From St Pancras, walk five minutes west along Euston Road to Euston, where the Overground’s Lioness line runs direct to Kenton in about 25 minutes; the Harrow clinic is a short walk from Kenton station, the last leg of the journey from Wellingborough.

By Car

Driving from Wellingborough takes around 1 hour 40 minutes and never needs the M25: the A45 dual carriageway west past Northampton to Junction 15 of the M1, south past Milton Keynes and Luton to Junction 5 at Watford, then the A41 through Bushey and Stanmore and the A409 turning down into Kenton Lane. Drivers who prefer the motorway to the end can carry on to the M25 at Junction 21A and go one junction west to Junction 20 for the A41.

From Wellingborough to My Hair UK Manchester Clinic

The A45 to Junction 15 of the M1, or the A509 north to the A14 at Kettering from the top of town, both reaching the Catthorpe interchange where the M1, M6 and A14 meet; then the M6 past Birmingham and Stoke to Junction 19 at Knutsford for the A556 and the M56, the M60 round to Junction 12 and the M602 into Salford, then Trinity Way round to the top of Deansgate.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How much does a beard transplant cost in Wellingborough?

£2,899 for Wellingborough patients, as a single fixed price whatever the number of grafts, up to the 3,500 that can safely be placed in one day. The price is agreed before surgery and nothing is added on the day.

2. Do I need to travel from Wellingborough for a beard transplant?

Yes, once. Surgery is a single day at a CQC-registered partner clinic in central Manchester or Harrow, north-west London, whichever suits you better. The consultation is free, by video from home or in-person at the clinic if you prefer, and follow-up runs by video unless you would rather come in, so the only required travel is the day of surgery itself.

3. How many grafts will my beard need?

It depends on the areas treated: sideburns typically take 200 to 300 each, a moustache 400 to 500, the goatee and chin 600 to 700, and cheeks 300 to 600 each side. Even full construction at 2,000 to 2,500 grafts fits in one day, and the price is the same fixed £2,899 regardless.

4. How do consultations work for Wellingborough patients?

By video from home, or in-person at the clinic if you prefer, free of charge either way. A few photographs are enough for the surgical team to assess your beard, and the consultation covers whether a transplant is worthwhile in your case, the graft plan, and the fixed £2,899 price. There is no obligation to book.

5. How many visits does a beard transplant involve?

One surgical visit is all it needs. The consultation beforehand can be by video, the surgery is completed in a single day, and follow-up runs as monthly check-ins plus free 6 and 12 month consultations with your surgeon, by video or in-person as you prefer.

6. What if my beard gaps appeared suddenly?

Sudden smooth, round bald spots in the beard can be alopecia barbae, an autoimmune condition, and transplanting into it is the wrong treatment. It needs a diagnosis first. Long-standing, stable patchiness is a different matter and usually suits a transplant well.

7. Does the donor area show after a beard transplant?

Beard work uses comparatively modest graft numbers, so the donor area at the back of the scalp recovers quickly, and the tiny FUE dot marks are covered by surrounding hair at normal lengths. The redness there settles within a couple of weeks.
