Beard Transplant Barnsley

Get back to great hair

Last Reviewed: 10 September 2026

Beard transplant pricing for Barnsley patients is 5☆ all-inclusive at a fixed £2,899, whatever the number of grafts, with GMC-registered surgeons at CQC-registered clinics and no hidden extras. The procedure fills patchy growth or builds a new beard line in a single day under local anaesthetic, and it starts with a free video consultation from home.

Beard Transplants for Barnsley Patients with My Hair UK

A beard transplant is an FUE hair transplant applied to the face. Follicular units are taken one at a time from the donor area at the back and sides of your scalp, where hair is permanent, and placed into the cheeks, jawline, moustache or chin. Once healed they grow as beard hair: you shave it, trim it and style it like the rest. The full procedure is covered on our beard transplant page.

Most of the Barnsley patients we hear from want thickening work rather than a beard built from nothing. Patchy cheeks, a gap between the moustache and the chin, thin sideburns or an uneven jawline are the typical cases. Patchiness is usually genetic, so it does not respond to waiting, and a transplant is the only treatment that adds permanent hair where there is none.

Your consultation happens either by video from home, or in-person with the surgeon who would carry out your procedure if you'd prefer to travel to the clinic (directions below). It is free, and you get an honest answer on whether a transplant is worth it in your case, including when it is not, along with your graft plan and the fixed price confirmed in writing before anything is booked.

Cost

Beard Transplant Cost in Barnsley

£2,899 is the complete price of a beard transplant for Barnsley patients: one fixed, all-inclusive fee agreed in writing before surgery, whatever the number of grafts placed on the day. UK beard work is widely quoted anywhere from £3,000 to £7,000 depending on graft count, so a fixed fee at this level is deliberately competitive, and it means a bigger plan never carries a penalty.

The fee covers everything attached to the day itself: the surgeon and surgical team, anaesthetic, clinic facilities, aftercare products and your follow-up reviews. What the price includes and how it compares is set out in full on our beard transplant cost page.

How a Beard Transplant Works

On the day itself you are at the clinic for several hours, awake, under local anaesthetic. The surgeon first draws the design on your face and agrees every line with you: the cheek line, the jawline and neckline, how the moustache joins the chin, and how new growth blends into any beard you already have. Nothing is placed until you are happy with those lines.

Grafts are then extracted one follicular unit at a time from the back and sides of your scalp, where hair is a close match for beard hair and keeps its permanence. Each graft is placed flat to the skin in the direction beard hair grows, with single-hair grafts along the visible edges. It is one day of surgery, and you go home the same evening.

How Many Grafts Does a Beard Transplant Take?

Typical graft counts by area, matching both the published literature and what the surgeons see in practice:

Healing, Shaving and Results

Most Barnsley patients plan around a fortnight of visible healing: small scabs at each graft site that clear inside two weeks, then fading redness. Rather than describe that in the abstract, the photographs in this section show a real patient the day after surgery and again at two weeks, once the scabs have healed and dropped away. The transplanted hairs shed between weeks two and eight, which is an expected part of the cycle rather than a problem, and regrowth starts at around three months. Final density arrives between nine and twelve months.

You cannot shave the treated area for the first two weeks. Trimming is fine after that, and normal shaving usually resumes at about a month. Aftercare is included, with monthly check-ins to make sure your growth is on track, free 6 and 12 month follow-up consultations with your surgeon (video or in-person), and the clinic on hand if anything needs a closer look.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How much is a beard transplant for someone in Barnsley?

£2,899, one fixed all-inclusive fee regardless of graft count. Whether your plan needs 600 grafts or 2,500, the price is the same, and it is confirmed before surgery so nothing changes on the day.

2. Do I need to travel from Barnsley for a beard transplant?

Yes, once. Surgery is a single day at a CQC-registered partner clinic in central Manchester or Harrow, north-west London, whichever suits you better. The consultation is free, by video from home or in-person at the clinic if you prefer, and follow-up runs by video unless you would rather come in, so the only required travel is the day of surgery itself.

3. Where does the transplanted hair come from?

From the back and sides of your own scalp, extracted one follicular unit at a time. Hair from this area is a close match for beard hair in texture and growth.

4. Does the fixed price cover aftercare?

Yes. Aftercare products are provided as part of the £2,899, and the monthly check-ins and free 6 and 12 month follow-up consultations with your surgeon are included rather than billed separately.

5. Is there an age requirement for a beard transplant?

You need to be over 18, but the real question is whether your beard pattern has settled, which for most men is by the mid twenties. Transplanting into a pattern that is still changing risks a result that stops matching the beard around it, and the surgeon will advise honestly on timing.

6. Will new grafts blend with my existing beard hair?

They will, provided the angles are right, which is a placement skill. Grafts are set flat to the skin in the direction your existing beard grows, and since the donor hair is your own it matches in colour and texture and greys along with the rest.

7. Will I need to travel back to the clinic after surgery?

Only if you choose to. Aftercare instructions and products come home with you, we run regular monthly check-ins through recovery, and your free 6 and 12 month follow-up consultations with the surgeon can be held by video or in-person at the clinic.
