A beard transplant for London patients costs a fixed £2,899, all-inclusive whatever the number of grafts, carried out in one day under local anaesthetic by GMC-registered surgeons at CQC-registered clinics. It thickens patchy growth or builds a new beard line using your own permanent hair, with 5☆ independently verified reviews and a free video consultation as the first step.
A Beard Transplant for London Patients with My Hair UK
A beard transplant is an FUE hair transplant applied to the face. Follicular units are taken one at a time from the donor area at the back and sides of your scalp, where hair is permanent, and placed into the cheeks, jawline, moustache or chin. Once healed they grow as beard hair: you shave it, trim it and style it like the rest. The full procedure is covered on our beard transplant page.
Most of the London patients we hear from want thickening work rather than a beard built from nothing. Patchy cheeks, a gap between the moustache and the chin, thin sideburns or an uneven jawline are the typical cases. Patchiness is usually genetic, so it does not respond to waiting, and a transplant is the only treatment that adds permanent hair where there is none.
Your consultation happens either by video from home, or in-person with the surgeon who would carry out your procedure if you'd prefer to travel to the clinic (directions below). It is free, and you get an honest answer on whether a transplant is worth it in your case, including when it is not, along with your graft plan and the fixed price confirmed in writing before anything is booked.
Beard Transplant Cost in London
The price for London patients is £2,899, fixed before surgery and unchanged by the graft count. Per-graft pricing is the industry norm, and it is why quotes elsewhere often arrive as a range that only settles once you are committed. We think that is the wrong way round. The number of grafts you need is a clinical decision, so it should not be a billing lever, and with a fixed fee the surgeon plans your beard around the best result rather than a price band.
The £2,899 is all-inclusive: surgery, local anaesthetic, clinic fees, aftercare pack and follow-up reviews. How that compares across the UK market, and why the price does not scale with grafts, is covered on our beard transplant cost page.
How Much Does a Beard Transplant Cost in London?
Typical graft counts by area, with the fixed price alongside:
| Area | Typical Grafts | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Moustache | 400-500 | £2,899 |
| Sideburns | 200-300 each side | £2,899 |
| Goatee and chin | 600-700 | £2,899 |
| Cheeks | 300-600 each side | £2,899 |
| Full beard | 2,000-2,500 | £2,899 |
The Procedure, Start to Finish
The procedure runs in a single day under local anaesthetic. You are awake throughout, and most patients find the numbing injections the only uncomfortable part. Grafts are extracted individually from the donor area of the scalp, then placed one at a time at the flat angle beard hair naturally grows, following a design agreed with you before surgery starts.
The design stage matters more in beard work than anywhere else, because every line is on show. Before anything is placed, the surgeon draws the cheek line, jawline, neckline and moustache join directly onto your face and agrees it with you. Single-hair grafts go along the outlines, where the eye is most sensitive, so the edges look grown rather than drawn. You go home the same day.
How Many Grafts Does a Beard Transplant Take?
Typical graft counts by area, matching both the published literature and what the surgeons see in practice:
| Area | Typical Grafts |
|---|---|
| Sideburns | 200-300 each side |
| Moustache | 400-500 |
| Goatee and chin | 600-700 |
| Cheeks | 300-600 each side |
| Full beard | 2,000-2,500 |

Beard Transplant Recovery Timeline
The healing pattern is predictable. Fine dotted scabbing for the first week or two, mild redness that fades over the following weeks, and a shedding phase between weeks two and eight when the transplanted hairs fall out while the follicles stay put. The two patient photographs here show the difference a fortnight makes: small scabs at each graft the day after surgery, then clear skin with mild redness once they have dropped off at two weeks. New growth begins around month three and the final result settles between nine and twelve months.
The shaving rules are simple: nothing for two weeks, trimming after that, and a normal wet shave from around a month once the grafts are secure. Aftercare products are included in the price, and we have regular monthly check-ins with you to ensure your growth is progressing and offer free 6 & 12 month follow up consultations with your surgeon either by video or in-person.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. How much is a beard transplant for someone in London?
£2,899, one fixed all-inclusive fee regardless of graft count. Whether your plan needs 600 grafts or 2,500, the price is the same, and it is confirmed before surgery so nothing changes on the day.
2. Is there a beard transplant clinic in London?
Yes. The London clinic is in Harrow, in the north-west of the city, two minutes on foot from Kenton station on the Bakerloo line. It is CQC-registered, and your consultation can be held there in person or by video, whichever suits you.
3. Do beard transplant results last?
They do. Donor hair is taken from the back and sides of the scalp, where follicles are genetically resistant to balding, and that resistance travels with them. The transplanted beard hair is permanent and behaves like the beard around it.
4. When can I shave after a beard transplant?
Trimming is fine from two weeks, and a normal wet shave from around a month. Before that the grafts need to anchor, so the treated area is left alone for the first fortnight.
5. Will a beard transplant work for my patchy beard?
Genetic patchiness is exactly what the procedure is for, and it responds well. The exception is patchiness that appeared suddenly as smooth round spots, which can be alopecia barbae and needs a diagnosis first. The free photo assessment sorts one from the other.
6. How do I know if my patchy beard is alopecia barbae?
The pattern is the clue: alopecia barbae typically shows as smooth, round patches that appeared relatively suddenly, while genetic patchiness has usually been there since your beard first came in. The surgical team screens for this at the photo assessment stage.
7. I already have some beard. Can a transplant just fill the gaps?
Yes, and that is the most common request. The new grafts are blended into your existing growth, matching its angle and direction, so the filled areas are indistinguishable once grown in. The design stage maps exactly where density is added.

It is usually a short video call from home in London with the surgeon, based on a few photographs (an in-person consultation at the clinic is also available), and you come away knowing whether a transplant is worth it in your case, what it would involve, and the exact fixed price. Nothing is booked unless you choose to go ahead.
