Beard Transplant Nottingham

Get back to great hair

Last Reviewed: 4 September 2026

A beard transplant for Nottingham patients costs a fixed £2,899, all-inclusive whatever the number of grafts, carried out in one day under local anaesthetic by GMC-registered surgeons at CQC-registered clinics. It thickens patchy growth or builds a new beard line using your own permanent hair, with 5☆ independently verified reviews and a free video consultation as the first step.

Beard Transplant Surgery in Nottingham with My Hair UK

A beard transplant is an FUE hair transplant applied to the face. Follicular units are taken one at a time from the donor area at the back and sides of your scalp, where hair is permanent, and placed into the cheeks, jawline, moustache or chin. Once healed they grow as beard hair: you shave it, trim it and style it like the rest. The full procedure is covered on our beard transplant page.

Most of the Nottingham patients we hear from want thickening work rather than a beard built from nothing. Patchy cheeks, a gap between the moustache and the chin, thin sideburns or an uneven jawline are the typical cases. Patchiness is usually genetic, so it does not respond to waiting, and a transplant is the only treatment that adds permanent hair where there is none.

Your consultation happens either by video from home, or in-person with the surgeon who would carry out your procedure if you'd prefer to travel to the clinic (directions below). It is free, and you get an honest answer on whether a transplant is worth it in your case, including when it is not, along with your graft plan and the fixed price confirmed in writing before anything is booked.

Cost

Beard Transplant Cost in Nottingham

The price for Nottingham patients is £2,899, fixed before surgery and unchanged by the graft count. Per-graft pricing is the industry norm, and it is why quotes elsewhere often arrive as a range that only settles once you are committed. We think that is the wrong way round. The number of grafts you need is a clinical decision, so it should not be a billing lever, and with a fixed fee the surgeon plans your beard around the best result rather than a price band.

The £2,899 is all-inclusive: surgery, local anaesthetic, clinic fees, aftercare pack and follow-up reviews. How that compares across the UK market, and why the price does not scale with grafts, is covered on our beard transplant cost page.

How the Surgery Works

A beard transplant is a one-day procedure under local anaesthetic: design first, extraction second, placement third, home the same evening. The design is drawn on your face and agreed with you before surgery begins, because in beard work the outline is everything, and single-hair grafts are used along the edges so the result reads as grown rather than drawn on.

Beard hair also reads as full at a lower density than scalp work, around 25 to 40 grafts per square centimetre against the 40 a scalp hairline needs, which is why graft numbers that sound modest go a long way on the face. The safe ceiling is 3,500 grafts in a day, and even full beard construction sits comfortably inside a single day for most patients.

Recovery-Timeline

Beard Transplant Recovery Timeline

The healing pattern is predictable. Fine dotted scabbing for the first week or two, mild redness that fades over the following weeks, and a shedding phase between weeks two and eight when the transplanted hairs fall out while the follicles stay put. The two patient photographs here show the difference a fortnight makes: small scabs at each graft the day after surgery, then clear skin with mild redness once they have dropped off at two weeks. New growth begins around month three and the final result settles between nine and twelve months.

The shaving rules are simple: nothing for two weeks, trimming after that, and a normal wet shave from around a month once the grafts are secure. Aftercare products are included in the price, and we have regular monthly check-ins with you to ensure your growth is progressing and offer free 6 & 12 month follow up consultations with your surgeon either by video or in-person.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How much does a beard transplant cost in Nottingham?

£2,899 for Nottingham patients, as a single fixed price whatever the number of grafts, up to the 3,500 that can safely be placed in one day. The price is agreed before surgery and nothing is added on the day.

2. Where would I go for my surgery from Nottingham?

Surgery takes place at CQC-registered partner clinics in central Manchester and Harrow, north-west London, and for most Nottingham patients Manchester is the practical choice. It is a single day of surgery, so it is one travel day, and your consultation happens first, by video from home or in-person at the clinic if you prefer.

3. Will the transplanted beard hair fall out again?

The transplanted hairs shed once, between roughly weeks two and eight after surgery, which is a normal part of the cycle. The follicles themselves stay in place, regrow from around three months, and are then permanent.

4. How soon after a beard transplant can I shave normally?

Around a month. For the first two weeks the transplanted area is not shaved at all, from week two it can be trimmed, and once the grafts are secure at about the one-month mark normal shaving resumes.

5. How do consultations work for Nottingham patients?

By video from home, or in-person at the clinic if you prefer, free of charge either way. A few photographs are enough for the surgical team to assess your beard, and the consultation covers whether a transplant is worthwhile in your case, the graft plan, and the fixed £2,899 price. There is no obligation to book.

6. Is a beard transplant really done in one day?

Yes. Design, extraction and placement all happen in one visit under local anaesthetic, even for full beard construction, and you go home the same day. That is why one travel day covers it for Nottingham patients.

7. Am I too young for a beard transplant?

If your beard pattern is still filling in, possibly, and the surgical team will say so rather than operate early. Most men's patterns settle by the mid twenties. There is no upper age limit provided the donor area is healthy.

Considering scalp work as well? Our guide to hair transplant costs for Nottingham patients covers prices, graft numbers and travel in the same detail.

The easiest first step from Nottingham is a free video consultation: send a few photographs of your beard, the surgical team will assess them, and you get a clear plan with the fixed £2,899 price attached to it. There is no charge for the consultation and no obligation to take it further.
