A beard transplant thickens patchy areas or shapes a new beard line using your own permanent hair. For Newcastle patients the price is a fixed £2,899, 5☆ rated and all-inclusive with no hidden extras, delivered in a single day by GMC-registered surgeons at CQC-registered clinics. A few photographs and a free video consultation are enough for a clear plan and an honest answer on suitability.
Beard Transplant Surgery in Newcastle with My Hair UK
A patchy or incomplete beard is one of the few cosmetic problems with a genuinely permanent fix. A beard transplant moves follicular units, one at a time, from the donor area at the back and sides of your scalp into the areas of your beard that need them. Donor hair is not affected by balding, so once the transplanted hairs grow in they are yours for good: shaved, trimmed and styled like the rest. The surgery is explained fully on our beard transplant page.
For Newcastle patients the practical shape of it is one free consultation, by video from home or in-person at the clinic, then a single day of surgery, because even full beard construction fits within one session. Everything is settled beforehand: the design, the graft plan and the fixed £2,899 price, all agreed with the surgeon before the day itself.
Whether you are a good candidate depends on your growth pattern and what you want to achieve. Patchy cheeks, thin sideburns and gaps around the chin respond well. If your patchiness appeared suddenly as smooth round spots, that can be alopecia barbae, which needs a diagnosis rather than a transplant, and the surgeon will tell you so plainly at consultation.
Beard Transplant Cost in Newcastle
£2,899 is the complete price of a beard transplant for Newcastle patients: one fixed, all-inclusive fee agreed in writing before surgery, whatever the number of grafts placed on the day. UK beard work is widely quoted anywhere from £3,000 to £7,000 depending on graft count, so a fixed fee at this level is deliberately competitive, and it means a bigger plan never carries a penalty.
The fee covers everything attached to the day itself: the surgeon and surgical team, anaesthetic, clinic facilities, aftercare products and your follow-up reviews. What the price includes and how it compares is set out in full on our beard transplant cost page.
How Much Does a Beard Transplant Cost in Newcastle?
Whatever combination of areas your plan covers, the price is the same:
| Area | Typical Grafts | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Moustache | 400-500 | £2,899 |
| Sideburns | 200-300 each side | £2,899 |
| Goatee and chin | 600-700 | £2,899 |
| Cheeks | 300-600 each side | £2,899 |
| Full beard | 2,000-2,500 | £2,899 |
How a Beard Transplant Works
The procedure runs in a single day under local anaesthetic. You are awake throughout, and most patients find the numbing injections the only uncomfortable part. Grafts are extracted individually from the donor area of the scalp, then placed one at a time at the flat angle beard hair naturally grows, following a design agreed with you before surgery starts.
The design stage matters more in beard work than anywhere else, because every line is on show. Before anything is placed, the surgeon draws the cheek line, jawline, neckline and moustache join directly onto your face and agrees it with you. Single-hair grafts go along the outlines, where the eye is most sensitive, so the edges look grown rather than drawn. You go home the same day.
How Many Grafts Does a Beard Transplant Take?
Typical graft counts by area, matching both the published literature and what the surgeons see in practice:
| Area | Typical Grafts |
|---|---|
| Sideburns | 200-300 each side |
| Moustache | 400-500 |
| Goatee and chin | 600-700 |
| Cheeks | 300-600 each side |
| Full beard | 2,000-2,500 |
Beard Transplant Recovery Timeline
Recovery is quicker than most patients expect. For the first few days the treated area shows a small scab at each graft with some redness, and the scabs lift over the first two weeks. The patient photographs in this section show it honestly: fine dotted scabbing the day after surgery, then the same beard at two weeks with the scabs cleared and only slight redness remaining. Do not shave the transplanted area for the first two weeks; after that it can be trimmed, and normal shaving usually resumes from around a month once the grafts are secure.
Between roughly week two and week eight the transplanted hairs shed. This is normal and it is not the grafts failing: the follicles stay in place, new growth starts at around three months, and the beard reaches its final density between nine and twelve months. We keep in touch through the regrowth period with regular monthly check-ins, and you have free follow-up consultations with your surgeon at 6 and 12 months, by video or in-person.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What does a beard transplant cost for Newcastle patients?
The price is £2,899, fixed and all-inclusive, however many grafts your plan needs. It covers the surgery, anaesthetic, clinic fees, aftercare products and follow-up reviews, and it is agreed in writing before surgery.
2. Do I need to travel from Newcastle for a beard transplant?
Yes, once. Surgery is a single day at a CQC-registered partner clinic in central Manchester or Harrow, north-west London, whichever suits you better. The consultation is free, by video from home or in-person at the clinic if you prefer, and follow-up runs by video unless you would rather come in, so the only required travel is the day of surgery itself.
3. Do beard transplant results last?
They do. Donor hair is taken from the back and sides of the scalp, where follicles are genetically resistant to balding, and that resistance travels with them. The transplanted beard hair is permanent and behaves like the beard around it.
4. Is my own hair used for the beard transplant?
Yes, always. Follicular units are extracted individually from the donor area at the back and sides of your scalp and placed into the beard. Nothing artificial is used, which is why the result grows, sheds and greys like the rest of your beard.
5. Will people be able to tell I have had a beard transplant?
Once healed, a well-executed beard transplant is very hard to spot. Grafts are placed at the flat angle beard hair naturally grows, the outlines use single-hair grafts so the edges look grown rather than drawn, and the design is agreed with you line by line before surgery.
6. Will the price change once the surgeon sees my beard?
No. £2,899 is the price for every beard transplant, agreed in writing before surgery, whatever graft count your plan turns out to need. There are no on-the-day additions.
7. What is the best age for a beard transplant?
Whenever your growth pattern has stabilised, which is typically from the mid twenties onwards. Our guide to the best age for a beard transplant covers how to judge it, and the free assessment gives you a straight answer for your own case.
Considering scalp work as well? Our guide to hair transplant costs for Newcastle patients covers prices, graft numbers and travel in the same detail.
Send a few photographs of your beard and the surgical team will assess them, then a free video consultation talks you through what your beard would need, graft numbers included, with the fixed £2,899 price confirmed in writing. Newcastle patients handle everything up to the day of surgery from home.
