A beard transplant for Leeds patients costs a fixed £2,899, all-inclusive whatever the number of grafts, carried out in one day under local anaesthetic by GMC-registered surgeons at CQC-registered clinics. It thickens patchy growth or builds a new beard line using your own permanent hair, with 5☆ independently verified reviews and a free video consultation as the first step.
A Beard Transplant for Leeds Patients with My Hair UK
A beard transplant is an FUE hair transplant applied to the face. Follicular units are taken one at a time from the donor area at the back and sides of your scalp, where hair is permanent, and placed into the cheeks, jawline, moustache or chin. Once healed they grow as beard hair: you shave it, trim it and style it like the rest. The full procedure is covered on our beard transplant page.
Most of the Leeds patients we hear from want thickening work rather than a beard built from nothing. Patchy cheeks, a gap between the moustache and the chin, thin sideburns or an uneven jawline are the typical cases. Patchiness is usually genetic, so it does not respond to waiting, and a transplant is the only treatment that adds permanent hair where there is none.
Your consultation happens either by video from home, or in-person with the surgeon who would carry out your procedure if you'd prefer to travel to the clinic (directions below). It is free, and you get an honest answer on whether a transplant is worth it in your case, including when it is not, along with your graft plan and the fixed price confirmed in writing before anything is booked.
Beard Transplant Cost in Leeds
A beard transplant costs £2,899 for Leeds patients. That is a single fixed price whatever the number of grafts, agreed before surgery, and it does not move on the day. It covers the surgeon's time, the anaesthetic, all clinic fees, aftercare products and your follow-up reviews. There is nothing to add and nothing to negotiate.
Most UK clinics price beard work per graft, which means the bill depends on a number you cannot check yourself. A fixed fee removes that conversation entirely: whether your plan needs 600 grafts around the chin or 2,500 for full construction, the price is the same £2,899. The full breakdown is on our beard transplant cost page.
How Much Does a Beard Transplant Cost in Leeds?
The table below shows the typical graft counts for each beard area, and the price Leeds patients pay in every case:
| Area | Typical Grafts | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Moustache | 400-500 | £2,899 |
| Sideburns | 200-300 each side | £2,899 |
| Goatee and chin | 600-700 | £2,899 |
| Cheeks | 300-600 each side | £2,899 |
| Full beard | 2,000-2,500 | £2,899 |
How a Beard Transplant Works
The procedure runs in a single day under local anaesthetic. You are awake throughout, and most patients find the numbing injections the only uncomfortable part. Grafts are extracted individually from the donor area of the scalp, then placed one at a time at the flat angle beard hair naturally grows, following a design agreed with you before surgery starts.
The design stage matters more in beard work than anywhere else, because every line is on show. Before anything is placed, the surgeon draws the cheek line, jawline, neckline and moustache join directly onto your face and agrees it with you. Single-hair grafts go along the outlines, where the eye is most sensitive, so the edges look grown rather than drawn. You go home the same day.
How Many Grafts Does a Beard Transplant Take?
Typical graft counts by area, matching both the published literature and what the surgeons see in practice:
| Area | Typical Grafts |
|---|---|
| Sideburns | 200-300 each side |
| Moustache | 400-500 |
| Goatee and chin | 600-700 |
| Cheeks | 300-600 each side |
| Full beard | 2,000-2,500 |

Recovery, and When You Can Shave
Recovery is quicker than most patients expect. For the first few days the treated area shows a small scab at each graft with some redness, and the scabs lift over the first two weeks. The patient photographs in this section show it honestly: fine dotted scabbing the day after surgery, then the same beard at two weeks with the scabs cleared and only slight redness remaining. Do not shave the transplanted area for the first two weeks; after that it can be trimmed, and normal shaving usually resumes from around a month once the grafts are secure.
Between roughly week two and week eight the transplanted hairs shed. This is normal and it is not the grafts failing: the follicles stay in place, new growth starts at around three months, and the beard reaches its final density between nine and twelve months. We keep in touch through the regrowth period with regular monthly check-ins, and you have free follow-up consultations with your surgeon at 6 and 12 months, by video or in-person.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. How much is a beard transplant for someone in Leeds?
£2,899, one fixed all-inclusive fee regardless of graft count. Whether your plan needs 600 grafts or 2,500, the price is the same, and it is confirmed before surgery so nothing changes on the day.
2. Where would I go for my surgery from Leeds?
Surgery takes place at CQC-registered partner clinics in central Manchester and Harrow, north-west London, and for most Leeds patients Manchester is the practical choice. It is a single day of surgery, so it is one travel day, and your consultation happens first, by video from home or in-person at the clinic if you prefer.
3. Does a beard transplant look natural?
The angle and the outline decide it. Grafts are placed flat to the skin in the direction beard hair grows, single-hair grafts are used along the edges, and the design is drawn on your face and agreed with you before anything is placed.
4. How long does a beard transplant take to heal?
Scabbing clears in around two weeks, leaving slight redness that fades. The transplanted hairs shed between weeks two and eight, regrowth begins at around three months, and the final result settles between nine and twelve months.
5. Is a beard transplant painful?
Not during surgery: the face and donor area are fully numbed under local anaesthetic, and the numbing injections themselves are what most patients describe as the only uncomfortable moment. Afterwards any soreness is mild and short-lived.
6. Does the fixed price cover aftercare?
Yes. Aftercare products are provided as part of the £2,899, and the monthly check-ins and free 6 and 12 month follow-up consultations with your surgeon are included rather than billed separately.
7. Am I too young for a beard transplant?
If your beard pattern is still filling in, possibly, and the surgical team will say so rather than operate early. Most men's patterns settle by the mid twenties. There is no upper age limit provided the donor area is healthy.
